Exceptionally charming all original French automaton showing a papier mache head clown sitting backward on a fur covered papier mache pig. The pig's tail serves as a musical crank mechanism and as clown taunts the pig, by turning his tail, the music thereby plays. 10''(25cm)T x 12''(31cm)L Excellent working condition.

Early Celluloid antique musical Marotte doll. A Celluloid shoulder head doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, four teeth, blonde mohair wig, is attached to torso that contains a musical box, with long turned stick with a flute. The marotte is decorated with original costume with lace trimming and matching clown cap. When twirled, the costume swings about and music plays. Condition: excellent. Fine celluloid head and clothes in wonderful condition.The music box functions well. circa 1900. High:13,7` (34 cm.) with hat.

Pompously walking Peacock Automaton This amazing peacock automaton has a feather covered body (possible paper mache construction) . The body houses a strong clockwork motor which powers the birds cast legs, he balances by means of two trailing rods, his elaborate plumage (actual feathers) is dragged behind and intermittently raised and spread in typical peacock fashion. A very docorative automaton. Very good working condition. Original key. Some wear due to age. Size: 20" l. 51 cm.

Lambert French mechanical doll, automaton ca 1870. Very rare original Lambert automaton.The doll is standing on a base with a music box. She has five movements-she is watering her plants and turns her head to the side and nods, while the music plays a wonderful melody. She has her original dress, wig, corkplate etc. The clockwork is in prestine condition. The tune is very good. The base is covered with the orginal red velvet and has the original Lambert key. Her dress is silk and as it is the original dress, you see the age on the silk. The bisque is very good. Size of automate 19,5 inches/ 49 cm.

Autoperipatetikos mechanical doll.Ca 1850. This walking dollis a wonderful rare exampel of these dolls. She is all original. She has a paper mache head with fine painted features. Lovely pink dress trimmed with lace, black molded hair bands All original and in great condition. The doll is on a cardboard base with the patent marking (see picture).In the 19th century, there were many examples in making a walking doll. The most famous of these, patented in America in the middle of the century was this kind of doll. They could be made to walk on their own either by being wound up or by the action of a lever. This is a great working examble.Wonderful condition.28 cm.12" All-Original Autoperipatikos original and functional condition, fully marked with original patent info on base.
