Rarely does one see a desk of this size ( 34 cm) in such superb condition! The graining in the wood and color is beautiful. This was found with a collection of 40 volumes of Shakespere books. To imagine the size: Doll shown is 17" / 45 cm. The desk has white banding, turned ivory collums around the mirror, the original stenciling , featuring handsome paper lining and trim in the cozy interior. This useful piece would make a great miniature accessory for fashions, chinas or paper maches This handsome Biedermeier desk has the writing space with 3 small drawers at each side of the mirror. 1 large drawer to open writing space. Original paper. mirror, knobs, paper all original.The legs are nicely turned. No repairs. Excellent condition. Made in Germany circa 1860. A lovely piece to add to a doll vignette .Very good condition. The size is H. 13-1/2" / 34 cm-W.12,5"/ 32 cm D.6-3/4/ 17 cm. Made in Waltershausen, Germany ca 1860. The set comes w. desk and 40 volumes Shakespeare minature books in English w. illustrations.+ candelabra. ( Doll and inkstand not included)
