Antiker Schachtelteufel oder Jack-in-the-Box-Spielzeug mit Clown-Figur. Der Schachtelteufel-Clown sitzt auf einer Sprungfeder. Er ist aus Papiermachè hergestellt und als Clown gekleidet mit blauem modelliertem Papiermache-Hut und einem Hemd mit großem Kragen aus Stoff. Die Figur ist sehr fein modelliert und bemalt. Die mit Papier beklebte Schachtel hat den Originalaufkleber "Marolin Papiermache, Germany". Wenn die Schachtel geöffnet wird, springt der Clown heraus. Größe (geschlossene Schachtel: 10 x 10 x 10 cm). Für das Alter in sehr gutem Erhaltungszustand. Deutschland um 1900. Schachtelteufel, Springteufel oder Kistenteufel ist ein Kinderspielzeug, das von außen aussieht wie eine geschlossene Kiste mit einem Haken. Öffnet man den Deckel, springt die Schachtel auf und eine Figur – meistens ein Clown – auf einer Sprungfeder springt heraus. Im englischen Sprachraum wird das Spielzeug meist als Jack-in-the-Box bezeichnet.

This Celloloid doll is rare. Her hairstyle is wonderful and really historical. Inset beautiful glasseyes. Movable head, arms and legs. Made in Germany ca 1940 Condition: Very fine.
