Lovely antique Automaton Pull toy. Fine character Doll with bisque head ( marked 924). He is playing a lute turns his head, when the toy moves. Wonderfully dressed figure with comical character face made of fine flawless bisque. Inset blue eyes. Mohair wig. Wooden body. Seated on drum on platform with embossed gold paper trim. Dressed in his original fine outfit with laze. Excellent condition all over. H. 32 cm / 12,5" w. 26 cm/ 10" All original. Ca 1880

7" (18 cm.) Lehmann Kamerun. An ostrich is pulling two-wheeled postal delivery cart being driven by a blue-suited black man. There is a slit for dropping mail in the mail box at the rear of the cart. An early rare example of a china head doll from Royal Copenhagen, This lovely early doll date from 1840. She is a portrait of Caroline Amalie. Flesh toned china/porselain with dark brown hair swept up in a bun. She is marked with the royal Copenhagen mark and the mark of the painter.She is unrestored and fully original. She comes from a private Danish family. She is on her antique leather body, handsewn. Her dress is antique from the time. A blouse and a skirt.Lots of underwear-all handsewn.The condition is good.( Note:At the edge of the shoulderhead at the sewing hole a tiny bit of china has been regluded from the previous owner and a tiny bit of the glaze is rubbed. See picture)This does not affect her overall look.Size 42 cm 15 1/2"
